Buccal fat removal and Facetite® are usually outpatient procedures, meaning you can return home the same day of the treatment. The procedure takes about one hour. Here’s how it’s done:
Numbing Medicine
Local anaesthesia is given to numb your cheeks. You will be awake but drowsy and insensitive to pain
Virtually Painless Technique
A tiny opening about 2 cm long will be made between your cheek and gums - this will start above the second upper molar at the back of the mouth.
Permanent Fat Removal
Pressure will be applied on your cheek bones, causing the buccal fat to protrude from the incision. The fat is then painlessly teased out using forceps or surgical tweezers.
Quick 40 Min Procedure
After the necessary amount of fat is extracted, the incision is sealed with sutures.

Dr Lai Juen Bin

Before working at A.D.S, he held senior positions in several medical establishments. In the years 2008 and 2009, he was a senior consultant and clinical assistant professor in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the National Dental Centre. From 2013 to 2020, He was also the Head of Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Changi General Hospital.
He graduated from National University of Singapore in 2000, during which he was a Dean’s List recipient and received bronze and gold medals. Thereafter, he completed his Masters in Maxillofacial Surgery and obtained Fellowships of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and Academy of Medicine, Singapore. Subsequently Dr Lai also trained at the prestigious American Academy Of Cosmetic Surgery and received accreditation in facial plastic surgery.
